Earl and Lois Kloppenburg started
their business in 1950 with the opening of Guam Factors,
a gift shop specializing in sales of imports from the
Orient. Their business holdings grew to include the
Specialty House, Earl's Hut, The Office, Tapa Room,
Hideaway and Coffee Pot restaurants.
In 1964 they consolidated their businesses into Kloppenburg
Enterprises Inc. In 1966 they founded Pacific Island
Caterers (now LSG) and in 1969 opened Earl's Huts (40-unit
hotel), Turtle Tours, a transport and charter company,
Paradise Pier, a water sports activity center in Merizo,
and Turtle Cove, a 60-unit A-frame campsite with water
and recreational activities including fairs featuring
craftsman and dancers from Guam and Micronesia.
Today K.E.I. consists of Turtle Tours
whose major accounts include R&C Tours, DFS, K-Mart,
Onward Beach Resort, Fujita Hotel, Guam Tropical Fruit
World, The Shopping Express Bus System, Adventure River
Cruises and Iruka (Dolphin) Watching Adventure Tour.
Additionally we own the following optional tours: Eco
Adventure Tour, Iruka Sun Tour, Nautilus Guam Tour,
and Agana Bay Sunset Cruise Tour. We will continue to
develop new tours as the market dictates and package
our existing tours to create more value for our customers.
